Hey, all of y'alls! Decided to try out
's influence meme, which you can find here: [link]
I obviously couldn't fit everything I wanted, but you'll find most of my main influences here. So here we go...
+ Ashley Wood: I think he might be my favorite painter today. His work is so bold and full of confidence (and everything that my work isn't
). I hope to obtain that type of confidence someday.
+ Loish: Loish's work makes me all "waaaah... *faint*" She is so amazing at color and drawing pretty girls. So amazing. *u*
+ Super Mario World 2 - Yoshi's Island: As odd as it may be, I think this would have to be my favorite video game of all time. I love platformers and I love the look and feel of this game. The crayon art style and the happy bouncy music (I think my favorite game ost of all time), I LOVE THIS GAME!!!
+ DragonBall/Akira Toriyama's work in general: Yup, I'm sure you know I love Dragonball, and also Toriyama's other work as well. I like Dr. Slump and Sandland, but Dragonball will always be my favorite. I am well aware of all of it's faults, both with story and art style, but it doesn't matter.
+ Heinrich Kley: He is a good artist for loose, playful drawings. I hope to one day be as comfortable with myself and my drawing style to draw as freely as he did.
+ One Piece: If you aren't reading this already, then what is wrong with you?! Go do it now! The artwork is so unique and the story is very enjoyable and engaging.
+ J.C. Leyendecker: I saw an exhibit of his work right in my city, and I was probably the most sparkly-eyed I have ever been in a gallery. Definitely one of my favorites.
+ Street Fighter: I suck at fighting games so much. When I was little, I only watched relatives play because they were so much better than I was, but despite my suckage, I love the universe and it's characters.
+Alvin Lee: I used the same image for Street Fighter and Alvin Lee out of convenience, but Alvin Lee's work is just great. I am a fan of Udon Crew, but Lee's work is my favorite out of all of them.
+ Cuson: I think my favorite artist on dA. He pumps out with so many great paintings when he does, and he feels like he is painting on the computer like he would do with oil paints and a brush.
+ Franklin Booth: A very great ink drawing artist. He put so much detail into his work and with such great design. He also does a lot of drawings with "grand space" whether they are huge mountains or large clouds. It's like a good balance between space and detail.
+ Takeshi Obata: Yup, awesome manga artist. I like how he's a little more realistic for the medium he's working in. I loved Death Note, and I'm currently loving Bakuman.
I hope you enjoy and I hope you are interested in some of these artists/series.
